GSL ENERGY has recently completed the installation of an off-grid energy storage solution in Nigeria, designed to address the region’s ongoing energy challenges, including unstable grid infrastructure, frequent power outages, and rising fuel costs.
System Overview:
Inverter: 1 × 12kW Three-Phase Hybrid Inverter
Battery: 2 × 14.34kWh Wall-Mounted LiFePO₄ Batteries (Total Capacity: 28kWh)
Battery Voltage: 51.2V
Protection Level: IP65 (Dustproof and Waterproof)
Installation Mode: Wall-mounted, modular parallel configuration
Application Scenario: Residential and small commercial loads
This high-performance solution is engineered for environments with unreliable grid supply. The system allows seamless switchover to battery backup during grid outages and is capable of supporting both residential and light commercial loads, including lighting, refrigeration, electronics, and small machinery.
The batteries are based on Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO₄) chemistry, ensuring a long cycle life (6500+ cycles), high thermal stability, and excellent safety performance. The IP65-rated enclosures provide reliable protection against harsh weather conditions, making them ideal for outdoor or semi-outdoor installation.
Additionally, the modular battery design supports parallel connection, allowing for easy expansion based on future load requirements. The inverter system is compatible with both solar PV input and grid/generator hybrid operation, offering users a flexible and scalable energy architecture.
Outcome:
This installation enhances energy autonomy and reduces reliance on diesel generators, aligning with GSL ENERGY’s mission to deliver clean, resilient, and sustainable energy solutions across the African continent.
